shutterpumper
Available Soon
The shutterpumper is temporarily unavailable due to parts shortage. In the meantime, we’re working hard to restock — check back for updates!
If you own a Fujifilm X100, X100S, or early Leica digital camera that lacks an electronic release and an interval timer, you can now shoot time-lapse videos using an external intervalometer together with the shutterpumper®.
Acting as a bridge between electronic and classic mechanical releases, the shutterpumper is an electropneumatic soft-release that connects to your camera's threaded shutter button.
Key Benefits
- Universal Compatibility – Works with virtually all electronic intervalometers and RS-60E3 remote shutter release systems with a 2.5mm plug – physically pressing your camera’s shutter button with each trigger it receives.
- True Mechanical Soft Release – Air pressure is used to gently depress the shutter button, minimizing risk of camera shake.
- Portable & Efficient – Runs on standard 5V USB power source. A small power bank can drive tens of thousands of frames in a single session.
- Built for Photographers – Designed to handle the demands of long time-lapse sessions with minimal setup and maximum reliability.

Features
- Pneumatic actuator-based shutter release compatible with threaded shutter buttons.
- Microcontroller-based system ensures precise shutter actuation.
- Low-power design – bench tests achieved 36,233 releases at one-second intervals – the equivalent of a shooting 10+ hour time-lapse while powered from an Anker brand PowerCore Slim 5000 – a tiny, 5000 mAh shirt pocket-size USB power bank (note: the power bank used in the test supplied power only to the shutterpumper).
- Manual override button for instant single-shot testing or on-demand capture.
- LED status indicators (power and trigger activity).
- Rugged Excelon™ tubing, precision fittings, and pocket-sized housing for field use.
- No internal battery – keeps the unit lightweight and eliminates recharging dangers.
- Designed and assembled in the USA with domestic and imported components.

Why It’s Unique
Unlike clockwork intervalometers or purely mechanical cable releases, the shutterpumper is a hybrid solution: it accepts external digital triggers, but outputs a true mechanical shutter press. This allows photographers to use inexpensive modern intervalometers and remote systems with cameras that were never designed to accept them — perfect for classic digital bodies or specialty cameras.
